"I came across the photo while sorting stuff out.
It was taken in the cold winter of 1963.  For most of the Easter term, the ground was too hard for rugby, and skating counted as 'Exercise'.  
(It suited me down to the ground, because I was never keen on rugger.)
My memory is that we were on a frozen pond up at High Walton.
